“ONE of Bristol city centre’s biggest eyesore buildings is expected to be knocked down in the next few months.
The former magistrates’ court complex in Nelson Street is set to be demolished and replaced with a hotel and student accommodation.
English Heritage described the old court building as “brutalist”, with “little intrinsic value or significance, and which relates poorly both to the surrounding historic buildings and the townscape generally”.”

This is a beautiful building. It should be preserved. Even if it has faults (which I deny) it should be saved as a reminder to later generations.
Oh, and on the “Bristol’s biggest eyesore” claim, try googling it. You’ll find that the Bristol Evening Bog Roll makes the same claim for the Parcelforce building at Temple Meads and for the Carridge Works in Stokes Croft. I’m sure there are more.
